Now that my self-challenge for 2012 is complete, what do I do with the project? Do I end it now and consider it as completed business, or do I keep it going as it has become almost part of my daily ritual? There are undoubtedly some days when it becomes a complete pain in the backside having to think about taking a photo and then blogging about it, but generally I enjoy it. For today at least, I’ll keep it going and see how we go.
This is a 25 second exposure of me walking across the marina pontoon, wearing bicycle lights; anybody watching must have wondered what on earth was going on!
It was late afternoon before I managed to get out to go for a run. There was a particular route I wanted to run and, as I was not sure if I would complete it before sunset, I took my head-torch with me. As the light was so dull and the limited views were not all that inspiring either, I decided to play around with camera settings, running speeds and backgrounds and see what sort of interesting images I could produce utilising the head-torch light. I think there’s scope here – with a lot more trial and error – for producing a lot better, but here’s 2 of the more interesting images from this attempt:
I’ve read a couple of articles recently about painting otherwise dark scenes with light. Given the continued atrocious weather outside I thought I’d have a go in our blacked out garage. 3 torches provided the light – 2 were static and one was used to paint individual elements in the scene. 25 second exposure at F2.8 & ISO 200. As ever, more practice required
